"Lactation Consultant"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternity Telehealth Service - WACHS South West

(as the patient),

I have had a rough breast feeding journey; Vasospasm, mastitis and staff infection on both nipples. It’s been very painful and distressing.

I have spoke to many midwifes about breast feeding but recently I had an incredible appointment with a lactation consultant named Myra from King Eddys in Perth. She was warm, friendly, informative, helpful and knowledgeable. I felt very safe and cared for.

I believe if all woman had this sort of support from the get go in hospital we would have far less issues.

Dear Morec57,

Thank you for taking the time to share your story about your experience with the Breastfeeding Centre at King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH). It is clear from your feedback how much the support from Myra has meant to you through your breastfeeding journey. It is so affirming to hear that, despite the challenges you encountered, Myra’s expertise and compassion enabled you to feel so safe and cared for. I will be sure that your very kind feedback is passed on to Myra.

Wishing you and your little one all the best,

Delaney
