"Problems with communication"

About: Karratha Health Campus / Outpatients & Day Treatment

(as a parent/guardian),

I had an appointment booked for 1230. Then I had a phone call from Perth at 11 saying could you come right now. So i dropped work got my child from school and raced down.

When I got to Karratha they told me the app was at 1230 still. So I rang perth they apologised and said come at 12. So I came back at 12 and karratha said no your appointment was still 1230. The mess around stuffed up my morning with work. When I was in the appointment the specialist said they didn't have alot of time, so I felt like I was an inconvenience anyway. All up it was not a nice experience.

On a positive the girls on the front desk in Karratha were very lovely and don't deserve the back lash that they would get if this is a regular occurrence.

Dear Unhappy123,

Thank you for your feedback and I am disappointed to hear that you got such mixed messages about your appointment time for your outpatient appointment and that you felt rushed and dismissed during your appointment.

I would like to know more about what happened so we can initiate a thorough review with our clinical team. If you are happy to reach out, it would also support us to involve you in post-review discussions regarding any resulting outcomes and recommendations as a result of your feedback. Please feel welcome to contact me at your convenience on 9144 7777 or email me at: Andra.Woods@health.wa.gov.au.

Again, thank you for taking the time to share your story and I hope to hear from you in the near future.

Kind regards

Andra Woods |Operation Manager – West Pilbara
