"cannot get an appointment"

About: Swan CAMHS

(as a parent/guardian),

My child is hurting themself, I have been refereed by head space and my G.P  and I can not get an appointment with CAMHS.. Transferred and Transferred, they might call me back today.  It seemed they didn't even know who they were talking to . They thought I was my child even thou I explained to them who I was. Was told on first contact 2 weeks wait! Bl****y Joke in my opinion.

Dear woodpigeonmj46

Thank you for sharing your experience and advocating for your child. CAMHS aims to always prioritise care based on the clinical need and condition of the children requiring an appointment.

I appreciate that the communication with Swan CAMHS and delay in accessing an appointment for your child has only added unnecessary stress to an already overwhelming situation, for which I sincerely apologise.

If your child is in need of immediate support, please contact CAMHS Crisis Connect at 1800 048 636.

I encourage you to contact the Child and Family Liaison Service by phone on 6456 0032 or by email at CAHSFeedback@health.wa.gov.au so we can put you in touch with the team at Swan CAMHS to offer further support.

Warm regards,

Jill
