"Broome Hospital - Telehealth"

About: Broome Health Campus Telehealth Service - WACHS Kimberley

(as the patient),

I fractured my elbow in February which resulted in surgery in Perth and since then, various Telehealth Appointments.

Living remotely (2,000kms from Perth) can be a challenge when it comes to medical attention.

I think that Broome Hospital provides a excellent service for day to day issues (so does Urgent Care!) but when it comes to specialist services (eg. orthopaedics) Telehealth is a godsend! The alternative for me would be various trips to Perth even with the assistance of PATS, it is expensive.

I can’t rate Telehealth highly enough. The staff I have seen in Broome are excellent & very thorough, going the extra mile to ensure that you, as the patient, has received the best care & advice possible.

Dear sagittariustb56,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience following your injury and surgery, and for highlighting the critical role Telehealth has played in your recovery.

Living remotely certainly presents unique challenges when accessing specialist care, and I’m so pleased to hear that our Telehealth service has helped bridge that distance effectively for you. The ability to connect with specialists without the need to travel long distances — particularly after surgery — is exactly what Telehealth was designed for, and your feedback affirms just how vital it is for communities across the Kimberley.

I’m especially glad to hear that the staff you’ve encountered in Broome have been thorough, supportive, and committed to delivering the best possible care. I will make sure your kind words are passed on to the team — they’ll be heartened to know their efforts made a real difference.

Thank you again for your feedback, and I wish you a full and smooth recovery.

Warm regards,
James Sherriff
