My Journey at Logan Family Recovery
My daughter and I arrived at Logan Family Recovery filled with overwhelming emotions — broken and just a shell of who we once were. As a mother, I carried deep guilt, feeling like I had failed both myself and the one person who has always stood by me — my daughter, who relies solely on me.
As I glanced at her, tears in her eyes, and we waved goodbye to my family, I wanted to break down and give up. But then I heard a voice — one I will never forget.
"Hello, my name is Tee. Welcome to Logan Family Recovery. Take a moment and tell me about yourself."
That simple introduction wrapped me in warmth and safety. Tee’s calmness and sensitivity during the admission process gave me the strength and determination to try — to really give this my all.
That first week was filled with tears and overwhelming self-doubt. But Kirsten stood beside me with unwavering support, offering guidance and empowerment that kept me going.
The regular group sessions gave me knowledge, connection, and hope. They became the foundation of my recovery. Andy’s passion in delivering educational content left me inspired, reminding me that I will be okay.
I also had the privilege of enrolling in the parenting program with Nikita. Her sessions were practical and powerful, offering real steps I could implement in supporting my daughter's growth and development.
During my stay, Emmanuel became someone I truly leaned on — always there with a listening ear and a reminder that I am going to be okay.
And now, as I sit here on my final night, packing our bags, tears of joy roll down my cheeks. I can feel the strength in myself that I never thought possible. The network of support, the endless encouragement — it has molded me into the mother I’ve always dreamed of being.
Words will never be enough to express my gratitude to Tee and Kirsten. You both have changed my life, and I will carry your kindness and strength with me always.
If I may offer one suggestion for future residents — I’d love to see a self-presentation program introduced. One that focuses on grooming and self-care: skincare, makeup, nail and hair care, and dressing with confidence. I believe that taking pride in your appearance can do wonders for your self-worth and motivation in recovery.
Tonight is not the end of my story — it’s the beginning.
Forever grateful,
