Dear Calvary Mater Palliative Care Team,

I am writing to express my deepest gratitude and sincere appreciation for the exceptional care and support you provided to my mum and to our family during her final days.

From the moment we were connected with your service, the compassion, professionalism, and coordination shown by your entire team was nothing short of extraordinary.

You provided everything we could have possibly needed from medical equipment and community nursing support, to practical help and emotional reassurance that made it possible for my mother to remain at home, where she felt most at peace.

In particular, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Eliza, our palliative care registered nurse. Eliza was a source of calm and immense kindness during such an emotional and difficult time. She went beyond to ensure we were receiving what was required with continual contact and she ensured continuity of care. Her care went far beyond clinical and she supported not only my mother but our whole family with compassion and grace.

Thanks to your team, we received:

-Occupational and essential equipment

-Community nursing visits and guidance

-Medical oversight and symptom management

-The setup and management of a syringe driver

-A caring-at-home medication package that empowered us to deliver care with confidence

-Emotional and practical support that helped us navigate every step of this journey

Your service allowed my mother to pass peacefully and with dignity, surrounded by love and supported every step of the way. I cannot thank you enough for the role you played. You were the difference in an incredibly painful time, and we will never forget it.
