I tripped and put my hand out to save myself and ended up with a very nasty hand injury, for which I received the utmost care and surgery. Then referred to the Hand Therapy clinic in Zone 1 at the Albany Health Campus. This was seven months ago I have just been released from any further appointments at the Hand Clinic. If this service had not been here I most certainly would not have had the use of my hand that I now have. Everyone I saw in this department managed my injury extremely well. My goal was to get 100 percent of the movement back in my hand. I was so very fortunate that the professionals in the clinic had the same goal and that they were right there to help. I understand that without this facility in our local hospital people would have to go to Perth for treatment, meaning away from work, relatives and support people.
I was able to attend therapy appointments easily and more often than if I had to go afar for the therapy. I had my last appointment last week, so seven months of appointments.
