"Spouse in hospital"

About: Wonthaggi Hospital

(as a relative),

My spouse has been admitted to bass coast health for complications with cancer and chemo side effects.

One recent night my spouse asked for pain relief and their much need medication, they need them due to their compromise immune system. They asked several times over the course of the night but they were never given.

My spouse was in a lot of pain and just curled up in bed in a ball and eventually passed out. As I understand it, no one checked on my spouse through the night and the next morning was still in pain and very angry.

The day staff have been amazing but some afternoon staff have have been less helpful, even to get tissues is a constant battle if afternoon staff my spouse has seen are asked.

Dear Spouse68,

This sounds very distressing for your spouse and yourself.

Could you please call me on 0436 632 078 so I can get your details to follow up and ensure your spouse is getting the care they need.

Thank you for posting this feedback, if we don't know we can't action.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Chirs.
