"Food portion"

About: Perth Children's Hospital / Nutrition & Dietetics

(as a parent/guardian),

On a 4-8 year old diet my almost 8 year old received a tiny dinner portion. Curried chicken and rice contained maybe 4-5 tablespoons of rice. I can provide kitchen a photo if they like. I believe this serve would suit my 11 month old relative. Kitchen did provide 'extra rice' on request.

Mildly put out.

Dear statusym44

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I am sorry that your child received such a small dinner portion, especially when mealtimes should feel comforting and fulfilling. It is reassuring to know that additional rice was provided when requested, but I understand this does not take away from your initial concern.

Please know that your feedback is valued and will be shared with the Food Services team as we work to ensure every child receives a meal that’s generous, balanced, and helps them feel cared for during their stay. Your input will help us improve and ensure better experiences moving forward.

Warm regards,

Stephen Morris
