"Birthing at Armadale Hospital"

About: Armadale Hospital / Birth Suite (and Antenatal Assessment Unit) Armadale Hospital / Maud Bellas Maternity Ward & Neonatal Nursery

(as the patient),

My partner and I had our baby boy at Armadale Hospital two weeks ago and we cannot express our gratitude enough. From the moment I was admitted for an unplanned induction to the moment our son was born was incredible. My birth didn’t go as I had first planned however the wonderful midwives and medical team made myself and my partner feel calm and in control the entire time. We were lucky enough to have two incredible midwives with us in the birthing suite for their 12 hour shift. We would like to thank Kristy and Tara for making my labour experience so positive. You answered all of our questions, allowed my partner to assist where he could and made me feel comfortable during an uncomfortable experience. We will never forget the day we had with you both.

My post-birth experience on the post-natal ward was also very positive. All of the nurses and midwives I saw on the ward assisted with anything and everything I needed - as a first time Mum I had a lot of questions and needed some assistance, especially with swaddling! The staff were so kind and caring and made me feel very safe.

We were lucky enough to see the lactation consultant both on the ward and in the clinic the next week. I think this service is truly amazing. The LC was able to assist me with breastfeeding and provided reassurance that I was doing the right things at our follow up appointment.

I would also like to thank Emma from the MAPS program who looked after me during my pregnancy. Emma was amazing to work with throughout my third trimester and during the post natal home visits. The continuity of care I received through the MAPS program was excellent.

Overall, our entire experience at Armadale Hospital was extremely positive and I am so grateful to have had such incredible health professionals assist my partner and I bring our baby boy into the world.

Dear earmarkhg34

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your beautiful and heartfelt feedback about your experience at Armadale Hospital. On behalf of the entire team, I would like to extend our sincere congratulations to you and your partner on the birth of your baby boy!

It is truly encouraging to hear that, despite the unexpected turn in your birth journey, you felt supported, calm, and cared for every step of the way. I am so pleased to know that Kristy and Tara were able to create such a positive and empowering environment for you both during labour. Your kind words about their care have been shared with them and I know they will be incredibly touched to know the lasting impact they made on such a special day.

I’m also delighted to hear that your postnatal experience on the ward and with our lactation consultant was supportive. We understand how important it is—especially for first-time parents—to feel reassured, informed, and safe, and it’s wonderful to know that our staff delivered this so genuinely. Emma and the MAPS team will be thrilled to know that their continuity of care helped make your transition into parenthood smoother and more confident.

Your gratitude is a powerful reminder of the dedication, compassion, and teamwork our staff bring to their roles every day. I will ensure your message is passed on to all those involved in your care and celebrated across our maternity services.

Thank you again for your thoughtful message. We wish you, your partner, and your new baby all the joy, love, and good health in the world.

Warmest regards,

Alisha Thompson
