"Breastfeeding journey KEMH Perth"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Breastfeeding Centre of WA

(as the patient),

I had an appointment at the Breastfeeding Centre following the birth of my second baby. I had some difficulties feeding the first time and it was really tough. I wanted to be proactive at making my next breastfeeding journey more positive. My consultant was very friendly and knowledgeable. I felt instantly comfortable. She was able to affirm the things I was doing correctly and offer small tweaks and advice to optimise the feed. I left knowing what to do going forward and how to access additional support if needed when I return to my rural home. I feel so much more confident in breastfeeding now and if I need anything else I can make contact again.

Dear Secondtimemum

Thank you for sharing about your experience with the Breastfeeding Centre at King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH). I’m sorry to hear about the challenges you experienced with breastfeeding with your first baby, and I’m so pleased to hear about the support and guidance you received with your second baby from the team at the Breastfeeding Centre.

Your story is a beautiful testament to the importance of compassionate and knowledgeable support during such a crucial time, and I’m sure your story will bring hope to other mums who had a challenging first feeding journey. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Kind regards

Delaney
