"Appointment fees"

Transparency in charging patients:

In response to signage within the clinic saying "get you skin check" I booked an appointment. My last skin check was done in 2019 at no cost to me being covered by Medicare.

When presenting at reception I was informed that for this appointment there may be a small charge by the doctor even though I have a current Commonwealth Seniors Health Card.

It was not until the end of the examination that I was informed that a $175 fee would be charged on the day. 

As the scope of the service was known by the provider I believe I should have been advised of the amount to be charged up front.
