"Rehab after pelvic fracture"

About: SMHS Rehabilitation In The Home (RITH)

(as the patient),

When I was discharged from FSH to my home, could barely walk even with a walking frame. I was then contacted by a physiotherapist from the RITH team to arrange a home visit. Thomas arrived at my home to assess my needs, and realised my walking frame was too small for me. A better fitting frame was provided right away and I continued to use that for a few days. When Thomas came the next time he provided me with a pair of crutches, and showed me how to use them. Subsequently he returned and refined his instructions to me to improve my posture. He then signed me off, but left the crutches with me so that I could use them as long as I needed to, and then return them to the hospital when I no longer needed them.

Dear bone

Thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience with our RITH service following your discharge from Fiona Stanley Hospital.

I have passed on your comments to our physiotherapist Thomas who very much appreciates your feedback.

Wishing you all the best on your continued recovery.

Kind regards
