"Well-informed, safe and empowered"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Community Midwifery Program

(as the patient),

I had a very positive experience with the Family Birth Centre in Subiaco and can’t recommend it highly enough. From the very beginning, the care I received through the Midwifery Group Practice was warm, holistic, and deeply personal. Having a known midwife throughout my pregnancy and birth journey made such a difference—it felt like being supported by someone who truly understood me and my wishes.

The approach was intimate and respectful, and I always felt well-informed, safe, and empowered to make decisions that were right for me and my baby. The environment at the centre itself is calming and comfortable, and the team of midwives are not only highly skilled but also genuinely compassionate.

If you're looking for a more natural, family-centred birth experience with continuous care from a trusted midwife, based on my experience I believe the Family Birth Centre is a fantastic option. I’m so grateful for the care I received and the beautiful start they helped give my baby’s life.

Dear importerhe54,

Congratulations on the birth of your baby! Your story is incredibly moving and inspiring – I loved reading about how the Family Birth Centre (FBC) Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) provided such warm, holistic, and personal care throughout your pregnancy and birth journey. The continuity of care and the trust you had in your midwife clearly made a significant difference.

Your recommendation of the FBC at King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) will surely be valuable to others who are exploring maternity care options. We will be sure to pass your feedback to the FBC team, and I have no doubt your gratitude for their warmth and care will mean so much to them.

Best wishes

Delaney
