"Macquarie ward - Royal Women's Hospital"

About: Royal Hospital for Women / Gynaecology Services Division

(as the patient),

I had a truly wonderful experience this morning that I wanted to share with you all. I was in quite a bit of pain early today when a nurse came into my room. She immediately introduced herself, saying, "My name is Eden. Let me write my name on the board for you so you know who I am. I'll be looking after you today." This simple, empathetic gesture made a huge difference, especially given how much discomfort I was in. Also, the ward lady always gave me a beautiful and warm similes. These made a great difference.

Dear hippofx76,

Thank you for your feedback and taking the time to write to us especially while you are still in the hospital. The team on Macquarie Ward are highly dedicated and value placing women at the centre of their care. As you rightly say it is sometimes the smaller gestures that make the difference. I am pleased we have provided you with a safe, supportive journey.

Your feedback will be shared with the team.

I wish you well.

Victoria

Manager, Clinical Practice Improvement
