A loved one was frail and went for respite care. In my opinion, there was no duty of care. A fall and vomit in the evening. The partner was notified by email the next morning. The loved one was admitted to hospital at the partner's request. I believe the facility failed to provide a duty of care in relation to send this person for a check in an emergency department immediately. This has resulted in continual hospitalisation of ten weeks. Now the loved one is unable to return home. The partner is heartbroken, devastated and stressed.
As I understand it, this bad experience is not an isolated case. The loved one was only in the Aged Care facility for two days. This occurred approximately three months ago.
"No duty of care in aged care facility."
