"Birth"

About: Geraldton Hospital / Maternity and Newborn Services

(as the patient),

It was my babies first birthday on the weekend. Reflecting on her birth a year ago Ive been meaning to say thank you to all staff at GRH. I had a large bleed and emergency theatre post birth. It could have been hugely traumatic for me, yet I feel no trauma towards it and I know it's because of the way my birth emergency was handled. I felt safe and knew that things would get sorted quickly. The way the MER call was handled was incredible. Thank you again to all involved.

Dear jazzcc38

Thank you for reaching out on Care Opinion and sharing your story.

On behalf of everyone at Geraldton Health Campus may we say Happy First Birthday to your child and we hope you had a wonderful day celebrating.

I was delighted to read that because of the comprehensive and compassionate care you received during your traumatic birthing experience, you have not felt any trauma. To know that you felt safe as events were happening can give no better indication that our staff put you and your child at the heart of all their efforts and were working to ensure positive outcomes. I will add my heartfelt thanks to all of the staff who were involved in your care.

Kind regards

Cameron Ross
