"Toddler ED visit"

About: Kalgoorlie Health Campus / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

I brought my 2 year old daughter into Kalgoorlie ED last weekend after she fell off our kitchen bench and had a nasty head knock.

I was a mess and extremely concerned about her but could not fault the nursing or medical care we received from the minute we arrived until we were discharged. Of particular note were the lovely triage nurse and the FACEM, both were very compassionate and caring and I felt reassured whilst also feeling that my concerns were being heard and taken seriously. We were seen very quickly and kept a close eye on throughout the stay and I felt confident that if things were to deteriorate action would've been taken quickly.

Very grateful for the caring and compassionate staff providing our care in what was a very stressful time as a parent with a young child

Dear deploymentxn78

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Kalgoorlie Emergency Department. I’m so sorry to hear about your daughter’s fall—it must have been an incredibly distressing moment for you and your family.

It’s heartening to know that our triage nurse and FACEM were able to provide the compassionate and attentive care that helped you feel supported and reassured during such a difficult time. I will take great pleasure in passing on your kind words to them and the wider team in our Emergency Department.

Your feedback is a wonderful reminder of the impact that compassionate care can have.

Wishing your daughter a smooth recovery and hoping you continue to feel confident in the care we provide.

Kind regards

Hamish Burton
