I had a wonderful experience at the Birth Centre through my pregnancy, birth and postpartum. The level of care provided at the birth centre was exceptional and I couldn't think of anywhere else I would want to give birth.
During my pregnancy, my primary midwife Yumi provided high-quality care and antenatal education and I felt informed and confident about my pregnancy and birth. The level and quality of personalised care supported my physical, emotional and psychological health during my pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
Bonnie was the primary midwife during the birth. I will always be so grateful for how she supported and advocated for me and my partner throughout the labor and birth, including as I was transferred to hospital during birth for monitoring.
I have never felt so empowered and strong as I did during labor and the support of the birth centre midwives was a key part of this. The environment created at the birth centre was conducive to a calm birth where I felt safe and very well supported throughout, even when things didn't go to plan.
The postpartum home visits were a huge support to myself and my husband as we adjusted to being first time parents supporting my physical recovery, helping me learn to breastfeed, checking up on my baby's health and even providing an opportunity to debrief on the birth experience.
Thank you again to all the midwives that supported me, my husband and my baby. The work you do to support families is so valuable and something that more people should have the chance to benefit from.
