My severely disabled daughter had a long stay in FSH ICU. Once better we discharged very quickly due to her compromised immunity, and a lot of flu and Covid on the medical ward
She was very deconditioned. Unable to eat, walk, not sleeping at night.
We had no equipment at home to cater for our immobile young adult. We were accepted by the RITH program and were visited by physio, ot and speech pathologist within a day of discharge.
Equipment was arranged, guidance and support was fantastic
The ongoing visits by the therapists particularly Roisin physio was extremely helpful.
The support continued for apx 3 month and Roisin's expertise and referrals were so so helpful.
She took an interest and worked so hard to try and help us get to a manageable level with mobility and pain management.
She communicated with our community supports to ensure ongoing and seamless therapy
The entire service is to be commended for the assistance given to us .
We are very grateful.
