About: Armadale Hospital / Diabetes Clinic

(as the patient),

I am type 2 diabetic . My bgl’s are crazy high . Gp referred me to Armadale Endocrinology . I am pensioner can’t afford private . I have been waiting for more than 1 year . Endo only comes once a week . Why can’t they get more Endo or atleast Nurse practitioner there? Very disappointed .  But who cares about public’s health? I believe that everyone cares about Funding saving money .

Dear bluesp86

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience. It is completely understandable to feel concerned after such a long wait, especially when managing high blood glucose levels.

I apologise for the delay in securing an appointment with the endocrinology clinic. We are currently experiencing a high volume of referrals and acknowledge the frustration this may cause patients that are waiting for care.

In the meantime, if you haven’t already, I encourage you to consult with your GP. They can offer ongoing support, review your management plan, and make any necessary adjustments to help you manage while you are waiting.

As Care Opinion is anonymous, I recommend reaching out to our Customer Liaison Coordinator who can assist in following up with the clinic on your behalf. You can contact them by phone at (08) 9391 1153 or via email at AKG_ConsumerLiaison@health.wa.gov.au

Kind regards,

Alisha Thompson
