"The perfect midwife in a scary situation"

About: Esperance Health Campus / Maternity care

(as the patient),

We arrived early in the morning in 2023 due to spontaneous labour and we were met with the most amazingly midwife, Kylie. 

We had to go for an urgent c section and she walked us through and explained what was happening every step of the way.  

Baby came out in some distress and Kylie didn’t bat an eyelid. She stayed with us as the team worked on our baby and kept explaining what the Drs were doing and why. 

She stood by our side and kept us calm. Even after we had been discharged and we’re having troubles - she was our number one advocate. Kylie - I know you are a travelling midwife and may never see this, but your kindness and consideration will never be forgotten. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts xx

Thanks for taking the time to let us know about your experience with our maternity team at Esperance Health Campus in 2023. In particular, your experience with Midwife Kylie.

It is wonderful to hear that you felt so supported and informed during the birth of your baby, especially when these scenarios can be quite frightening and overwhelming. We are immensely proud of our staff within the maternity ward and it is always lovely to receive such positive feedback.

As you mention, Kylie is no longer within our team, but we will ensure that we reach out to her via the contacts we have to pass on this message. I am sure she will be thrilled when she hears such heartfelt and genuine appreciation for the care she provided.
