I went to Albany Hospital as I had fallen on my head whilst skiing. I had headaches, nausea and tingling in my thumb and fingers. I was admitted to ED and parked flat on my back in the corridor. I had mri, ct scan and X-rays and was fitted with a long aspen collar and told to go home. I asked whether there was any plan or discharge papers, but was told that someone would contact me.
Two weeks later , I had heard nothing, so went to the nursing post. Apparently I have a cerebral abscess and someone will be in contact about a plan at some point. I'm concerned and disappointed and wonder how long I wait and whether there are consequences for not dealing with an abscess quickly. Communication has been abysmal throughout this whole ordeal.
