"No staff at MFAU? sat waiting in agony for 3 hours +."

About: Fiona Stanley Hospital / Antenatal Clinic, Birth Suite, Maternal Fetal Assessment Unit, Obstetrics and Gynaecology Unit, Wards 3B, 3C, 3D, 3DO, Visiting Midwife Service

(as the patient),

Sent up to MFAU from clinic, was waiting about half an hour for a room in the first instance just to get some BPs done and CTG, sent for obstetric US at between 3-4pm, at the time of writing this I have now sat in MFAU waiting for a doctor and have been from 5pm and it’s just gone past 8pm, my back is in agony, i’m heavily pregnant and have a lot of pain which the lovely midwives are aware of but I feel waiting 3+ hours for a simple review and plan is an absolute nightmare. i’m still in agony.

Dear loveqr88,

I’m truly sorry to hear about your experience during your visit to the Maternal Fetal Assessment Unit (MAFU) at Fiona Stanley Hospital. I can only imagine how distressing it must have been to be left waiting in pain for an extended period, and I sincerely apologise that this was your experience.

I appreciate the time you’ve taken to share your feedback. However, as Care Opinion is an anonymous platform, we’re unable to investigate your concerns further without additional patient details. I encourage you to contact our Patient and Family Liaison Service on (08) 6152 4013 during business hours or email us at FSHFeedback@health.wa.gov.au. This will allow us to look into your concerns more thoroughly and provide a formal response.

Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve the quality and timeliness of our care. Once again, I offer my sincere apologies and thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Kind Regards

Luke Dix
