At the end of June 2025 I severely cut the top of my left index finger so that it was severed 90% resulting in the bone being cut and blood vessels and nerves severed.
From the time I arrived at the Emergency Department through to, 8 weeks later, working with the OTs to regain as much use of the finger as possible the staff at Albany Campus have been efficient, supportive, professional and diligent. This includes staff at reception, the surgeons who optimistically told me they'd "fix it", radiologists, the nurses who attended to me pre and post surgery and the doctors and occupational therapists who ensured recovery was well on the way. If these staff members are an example of the professionalism that pervades our health system we, the public, are in good hands. I thank them all for being so caring and professional.
