"Subject: With Profound Gratitude - Thank You for Saving Our Son's Life"

About: Royal Perth Hospital / Emergency Department Royal Perth Hospital / State Major Trauma Unit Ward 3G

(as a parent/guardian),

Dear Royal Perth Hospital Emergency Department, ICU, Major Trauma Ward, and Outpatient Clinic Teams,

Words feel inadequate to express the depth of gratitude our family feels for the extraordinary care you provided to our 22-year-old son, following a motor vehicle accident. You quite literally saved his life, and in doing so, you have profoundly changed all of our lives forever.

From the moment our son arrived in your Emergency Department, through his time in the ICU and Major Trauma Ward, and continuing now through the Outpatient Clinics, every single member of your teams demonstrated a level of care, professionalism, and compassion that goes beyond anything we could have imagined. You didn't just treat our son's injuries - you cared for our entire family with such genuine kindness during the most frightening time of our lives.

Your skill, dedication, and unwavering commitment to excellence turned what could have been our worst nightmare into a story of hope and recovery. The way you combined cutting-edge medical expertise with such humble, caring service has left an indelible mark on our hearts. You treated our son not just as a patient, but as someone's beloved son, and that made all the difference.

The impact of your care extends far beyond our son's physical healing. You have inspired us (and especially our son who knows he has been given a second chance) to pay forward the kindness and compassion you showed our family. We are committed to being a positive force for others we encounter as we move forward in life, carrying with us the example you set of what it means to truly care for others.

We will hold each and every one of you in our hearts with gratitude forever. There is no way to adequately thank you for giving us our son back, but please know that your work matters more than you could ever know. You are the true heroes, and we are forever in your debt.

With our deepest appreciation and endless gratitude,

Dear guideeh85

Thank you for your profoundly moving and generous message of appreciation. On behalf of Royal Perth Hospital, I want to extend our deepest gratitude for taking the time to share your family’s experience following your son’s motor vehicle accident.

Your words touched us deeply. They are a powerful reminder of why we do what we do, and they will be shared with all the teams involved in your son’s care, from our Emergency Department, ICU, and Major Trauma Ward, to the Outpatient Clinics. Each of these teams played a vital role in your son’s journey, and your message will mean the world to them.

We are humbled to know that our care made such a difference during what must have been an unimaginably difficult time for your family. Your story reminds us that behind every patient is a family, and behind every act of care is the potential to change lives. We are honoured to have been part of your son’s recovery and inspired by your commitment to pay forward the kindness you received.

Please know that your message will be cherished and remembered. It will be shared widely across our hospital to acknowledge the incredible work of our staff and to reinforce the importance of compassionate care.

With heartfelt thanks and warmest wishes to you and your family.

Kind regards
