We have recently had a really positive experience getting some OT support for our three year old daughter in Broome. I was able to do a parent referral to Allied Health services to join the waitlist for an OT appointment. While I was waiting for an appointment, I was booked in to the advice clinic to spend an hour with an OT, Jayden. Jayden was amazing - so helpful even in that one session with helping to identify our daughter's specific needs and suggest strategies to help. He followed up with an email summarising our session and including lots of helpful resources. Jayden ran a parent workshop to discuss sensory needs for children, which was very helpful for my husband to attend and understand more about what we could do to help our daughter. We then had another appointment with Jayden to check in on our progress and guide us moving forward.
Jayden has been incredible to work with - he is extremely knowledgeable and so supportive, it's obvious to me that he really wants the best for the child and their family. Our daughter loved going to her OT sessions, Jayden has such a great manner with children. As she said as we left her last session, "thank you for the fun!"
I was so impressed at how easily and quickly I was able to access these services as a parent in Broome. It was only a few weeks to wait for an appointment and it was so helpful to book in to the advice clinic and get some support in the meantime.
