"Pregnancy labour and birth"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I went through the midwifery group practice model of care for my pregnancy, labour and birth. I felt listened to, empowered, and amazingly cared for throughout. I genuinely believe my labour was quicker and with less complications due to the consistency of my known midwife Elly. Having her there to guide me through labour and birth provided such a calm environment where I had full confidence that I would be advocated for, allowing me to relax into the process. It is a truly fantastic model of care, which I believe more women should have access to and I hope to go through this model in future pregnancies.

Dear pyxisbe97

Thank you for sharing your positive experience with our Midwifery Group Practice (MGP), especially the exceptional care you received from Elly, your primary midwife. I am so pleased that you felt listened to, empowered and cared for throughout your journey.

Your reflections on the MGP model during your pregnancy and birth are truly appreciated and I will be sure to pass on your gratitude to Elly and the rest of the team.

Best wishes

Delaney
