"OT and Physiotherapy"

About: Collie Hospital / Occupational Therapy

(as the patient),

About a year ago I was greatly concerned by my increasing lack of balance and my back issues were badly affecting my mobility. I fell and broke my hand. The OT at Collie Hospital was amazing and so knowledgeable.  I was so much more comfortable in the splint she made for me, rather than the plaster cast I wore for the first few days. Once my hand was mended, she referred me on to the physiotherapist.

The physio, Ally, and her staff, Vanessa, Terri-Ann and Jake were marvellous.  Their care and support at my weekly sessions were very personal and geared to my needs.  In addition, I was given exercises I could easily do at home - standing, sitting and even in the pool.  After three months of my programmes, I am now just working on the exercises independently at home, but am so relieved to be moving so very much more safely and comfortably.  I extend to them my most sincere thanks as I am so grateful I had the opportunity to receive such care.

Hi Ransom

My name is Graham, and I am the Community Health Manager for the Wellington region. Thank you for your lovely feedback about the OT and Physiotherapy service you received at Collie Hospital. It is wonderful to hear the progress you have made, and great that you are continuing with the home exercise program.

We are blessed to have such a skilled and dedicated Allied Health team in Collie. They provide a range of services to help those within our community regain confidence, mobility and functional safety following injury or illness. I will ensure your message of appreciation and thanks is shared with the team so they are aware of the positive impact they made during your recovery.

Kind regards,

Graham Benbow
