To the amazing MGP team and maternity ward staff,
I cannot thank Sheree and Lea enough for their integral and exceptional care throughout the MGP program. As a first-time mum with no family support here in the Pilbara, I felt completely safe and supported from the very beginning of my pregnancy right through to the end.
Unfortunately, when it came time to give birth, I became seriously unwell with Influenza B, resulting in an emergency C-section. Lea, you were my absolute rock during this difficult and frightening time. I truly couldn’t have remained as calm and positive without your unwavering support.
Just nine days postpartum, I found myself back in hospital due to an infection. To the incredible staff on the maternity ward: I cannot thank you enough for the exceptional care I received over the past week. At a time when I was feeling vulnerable and overwhelmed while trying to navigate the early days of motherhood, your team made all the difference.
You carried out your roles not just as professionals, but with genuine kindness and compassion—ensuring I felt safe, supported, and even bringing a few much-needed laughs. From regular check-ins and wound care, to chasing down medication and offering support with my newborn, every single gesture meant the world to me.
I was also incredibly grateful to be allowed the comfort of having my husband stay for a night—something that made a huge difference to both of us during a challenging time.
I sincerely hope this message reaches the whole team, as each of you played a part in making an extremely difficult experience feel manageable, and even heartwarming. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
