"Residential stay at Lives Lived Well Wyla, in Orange"

About: Lives Lived Well – Wyla Residential Services (Orange)

(as a service user),

I entered Lives Lived Well in Orange feeling overwhelmingly emotional, nervous and unsure if I could manage the program, but from the moment I arrived I was treated with care, kindness, respect, dignity, and flexibility. The staff supported me every step of the way. My Treatment Facilitator was amazing. She always had time for me, linked me in with services that I needed, sat with me during difficult times and days, helped me to see the positive things in my life that I needed to fight for, cheered me on and made me feel included in my care plan, which empowered me to take the steps I needed to get well.

Coming into Wyla, I was broken, my self-esteem was low and I had lost my confidence. I was deeply depressed and feeling hopeless. Over time, through daily support, group sessions, and individual care, I found myself building confidence, learning new coping mechanisms, and regaining hope. Being in a group with others on the same journey was such a relief—it reminded me that I wasn’t alone.

Residential care gave me the chance to step away from the pressures of everyday life—being a mum, a wife, and working, whilst trying to get well all at the same time —so I could focus fully on my recovery. That time and space were exactly what I needed. I learned so much about addiction and developed practical tools I now use every day.

After 12 weeks at Wyla, my self-esteem and confidence grew strong again. I felt ready to live a productive life. Sobriety has been the greatest gift. I am now back at home, living as a mum and wife, working and even studying. My mental health is the best it has been in years and I am sober.

I am so grateful to all the caring and supportive staff at Lives Lived Well, who always had time for me, helped me through the hard moments and celebrated the wins with me. My time at Wyla has been life-changing for me and my family, and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a safe, supportive space to recover.

What a powerful and honest message of hope.

Thank you for taking the time to write about your personal journey with such honesty and vulnerability. Sharing in this way will undoubtedly help others who may be feeling similar to yourself.

Entering residential rehabilitation is certainly a daunting prospect, I can relate to those emotions and feelings that you write about from my own experiences. Well done for pushing through the difficulties and making the efforts for yourself.

Each of our roads to wellness are unique and marked by milestones, both challenging and rewarding and it is empowering to hear how you worked with the team at Wyla to navigate your path. I love hearing how you have regained your hope and confidence - the world is our oyster in recovery.

I will pass on this message to the team. I am sure they will value hearing this feedback.

Thank you again for sharing, keep up the amazing work and I am sure that there will be many wonderful days to come with your family.

Remember to reach out if you ever need support in the future.

Kris
