"Mum going to emergency at POW"

About: Prince of Wales Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

We took mum to emergency after being unwell, faint and dizzy for 24 hours . We were seen to quickly as there were some concerning factors.

All the nurses were kind and helpful during our stay but our main doctor James was absolutely outstanding.

He was kind , thorough, personable, warm and friendly which during some very stressful moments and scans meant so much .

He went above and beyond in the service he provided as a doctor and he made mum feel important , valued and safe . We were all worried and uneasy and he did everything he could to make a hospital visit the best it could be.

Meeting a person like James restored our faith in humanity. If only more people showed care, genuine interest and compassion the way James did , the world would be a better place .

We are forever grateful to have met James 🙏

Dear Grateful sisters, thank - you for taking the time to write to us and share this beautiful care story. We are sorry to hear that your mother was unwell and required treatment in our Emergency Department. We hope that your mother's health has now improved.

We are pleased to read that during your mother's time in the Emergency Department that all staff were kind and respectful. We will ensure that Doctor James is given your grateful feedback about his compassionate bed side manner and communication. We acknowledge that Dr James is an outstanding Emergency Physician, and his professionalism, kindness and care make him truly remarkable.

We are very appreciative your kind words of thanks and will ensure that your gratitude is shared with all of our Emergency Department Team.
