After being discharged from FSH with a fractured pelvis I was contacted by James from Fremantle RITH. I couldn't walk easily even on my zimmer frame and had to hire a wheelchair. My sister stayed with me for 3 weeks, till I could do basic stuff like go to the loo and shower by myself. James gave me exercises and explained what they did and was very supportive.
I was supplied with crutches and James was very particular that they the right size. I was taught to walk with 2 and then 1 and then they watched me walk unaided around the home.I ended up having visits twice a week 1 by James and the other by Steve. They worked closely together and really helped me get back on my feet and driving. Such lovely, helpful and caring men.
I was rather sad when they discharged me. They both passed on tips and tools for my rehab in the future. I still am using some of the equipment I got from FSH and James and was told to return once I no longer needed them. My next step is to start using a cane instead the crutch. Still not comfortable with the cane but I think its more the people out there that worry me. Thank you very much for the care and support you both provided.
