Patient Feedback – Surgical Ward

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the entire team on the surgical ward, especially the incredible social worker who supported me throughout my stay. Their kindness, empathy, and genuine care made a world of difference during a very vulnerable time. Spending hours with me safety planning and putting genuine care into my situation. 

From the very beginning, the social worker made me feel heard, respected, and safe. They took the time to check in regularly, listen without judgment, and offer the right support when I needed it most. Their presence gave me a sense of stability and reassurance that I hadn’t felt in a long time.

It's rare to come across people who truly care beyond their role, and that's exactly what I experienced here. I’ll always be grateful for the way they advocated for me and helped me feel strong enough to focus on my recovery.

Thank you for creating an environment where healing is not just physical, but emotional too.

I also want to add what a lovely teacher she was to a social work student allowing her to take the lead and ensuring I felt supported with that.
