About: Fremantle Hospital and Health Service / Geriatric Medicine Department & Wards V5&V6

(as a relative),

Sir/Madam,

Our entire family extends heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Fremantle Hospital for the exceptional care given to our 99-year-old father, during his recent life-threatening bout of aspirational pneumonia. This period ,during August and into September (about 6 weeks) this year was an extremely worrying time for our families and friends here in WA, interstate and overseas.

Special appreciation must go to Dr Ray and Dr Andrew in the Geriatrics Department, Ward 7 for their incredible skill, kindness and dedication, which have been without any doubt central in his recovery. We were completely confident with all of the decisions, information and answers we were given by Doctors Ray and Andrew. The Nursing team, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapist and all of the caring aides on the ward also deserve a a huge shout out as well. Thank you all.

We recognise the pressures and challenges facing health services in WA, and despite this, an outstanding outcome has been achieved.

We are truly grateful for the compassion and professionalism shown by the entire team.

Thank you so much for taking the time to send us such a heartfelt review of your father’s recent admission to Fremantle Hospital (FH).

I am so incredibly proud of all of our staff; however, it was wonderful to read about the exceptional care provided as you described by the team on our Geriatric Ward at FH.

Compassion and kindness are essential to our vision to deliver excellent health care, every time, and I am glad that when it was needed most this was provided to your father and family.

Please be assured I have shared this wonderful compliment with the team involved, with a special mention to Dr Ray and Dr Andrew!
