"Terrible food"

About: Prince of Wales Hospital

(as a relative),

I’ve just had my elderly parent crying on the phone to me because they are hungry and their dinner was inedible. Their breakfast likewise.

How can you seemingly allow this to happen? It is my belief that the health department and hospital administrators are completely cognizant of the apparent disgusting state of the food in hospitals and seemingly continue to downgrade it.

I think that health ministers should have to eat, what I believe is awful unhealthy overcooked tasteless garbage, themselves for a week - when they are very unwell. Just speechless at the apparent callousness of this.

Dear woodpigeonrg69

Thank you for taking the time to write to share your concerns regarding inpatient food services.

I sincerely apologise for the distress caused to your parent and yourself. The experience you have described is not the level of service we strive to provide in partnership with food services provider NSW Healthshare.

I will ensure that your feedback is escalated to the Healthshare Food Services unit.

If you have any further feedback to provide, please don’t hesitate to contact me at SESLHD-GeneralManager-POWHSSEH@health.nsw.gov.au
