"2nd surgery cancellation"

I am awaiting a spinal cord stimulator that isn't working and the battery has moved too close to spine to be removed. After seeing the Dr at the RAH I was told that it was semi urgent and would be done is 1-3mths. We are now at the over 6mths mark all the while I am on pain medication and in pain.

Today, for the second time today they have cancelled the surgery. I live regionally and have had to travel over 2 hrs multiple times, waste money on not needed accommodation, waste money on fuel. I have tried to speak with them and discuss the urgency and what I can do, do I have to go through ED? They say no, so what is so wrong with me that I have been selected twice to be cancelled? I get no clear answers about why, I get no clear answer on when this can be done, I have no clear answers on what are my options. If everyone in ED gets my spot do I seemingly have to waste doctor and nurses time and take up a bed just to have this done?
