"Care at the Coral Bay Nursing Post"

Shortly after a morning snorkelling swim in the Bay, my partner became anxious because she did not know where she was. After a period of time it became clearer her condition was becoming worse along with her growing anxiety/fear. 

We contacted the Coral Bay Nursing Post and the nurse was able to interrupt her Sunday to meet us at the Nursing Post to assess my partner.

Katie, the nurse was very professional, compassionate and kind to my partner as well as supporting me in a scary situation. She checked all her vitals and organised a tele-health appointment with a doctor.

The doctor was reassuring as he suspected she was experiencing an episode of TGA but it was important to exclude any other pathology, so Katie and the doctor arranged for us to be seen at the Emergency Department at Carnavon Hospital, approximately 238km south. Katie was reassuring to me and provided me with all her documentation and test results to take with me to the Hospital.

My partner's condition worsened as we drove to Carnavon but we made it and found ourselves in very good hands in the ED and she was admitted over night. Her condition improved and indeed the doctors prediction of TGA was justified.

She has since made a full recovery.

We did try to call in to see Katie before we travelled to our next destination to let her know how my partner was but Katie was not available. We are sorry we missed her as we wanted to let her know how pleased we were with her care for my partner.

Hi Katie & Dr Telehealth, although I don't remember a single thing, thank you for your care and reassurance. I am sure it was very stressful for my partner but it sounds as if you both did a great job of not just looking after me but reassuring him that it was going to be ok. Indeed it was, but not till after the amnesia had subsided, and a hairy trip for my partner. We were well looked after in Carnavon Hospital, later discharged so we could continue our travels on the magnificent Coral Coast.  Thank you very much, I am very grateful for your excellent care.
