"MGP 5"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I was fortunate to return to the MGP program for my second pregnancy.

The genuine care and support provided by the whole team was phenomenal. My first child was born via c section due to being breach. Initially I had my heart set on a vbac but as my pregnancy progressed and I learned about the risks, we decided on an elective c section. This was not an easy choice but I was so compassionately counseled and reassured by Ginny. There was no judgement just support to make an informed choice that was right for me, my wellbeing and circumstances.

When I went in to have my daughter, Ginny was not rostered and my alternate, Anika, had been on birth suite all night. Her alternate, Chiara, who had provided support earlier in my pregnancy was already another lady so I had Rebecca with me. At no point did I feel unsupported or unknown. The benefits of the group practice became evident and for that I wa most grateful.

I think this is service and incredible women are such an asset to our health care services and pregnant woman. They provide such a great connection and support for expectant mothers and their families. I am so grateful I was able to access MGP for both my pregnancies and based on my experience I highly recommend this service to any eligible families.

Thank you Ginny, Anika, Chiara and Rebecca for you genuine compassion, support and care ♥️

Dear indiawd99,

Congratulations on the birth of your second baby and thank you for reaching out to share your experience through the Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) model of care. Your reflections on the exceptional care you received are wonderful to read. I’m so pleased that you felt informed, supported, respected, and well cared for throughout your pregnancy.

I will be delighted to share your kind words of appreciation with Ginny, Anika, Chiara and Rebecca – I’m sure they will be really happy to hear how the way they collaborate to provide care meant that you never felt unsupported or unknown. We’re lucky to have them on our team!

Best wishes

Delaney
