Recently I was unfortunate to have had a heart attack. The ambulance arrived very quickly and took me to Sir Charles Gairdner. The care, respect and urgency in which the Cath Lab team conducted themselves was absolutely fantastic and information was constantly given to try and reassure me of everything going on including the ambulance team.
I was dealt with very quickly once at the hospital and then taken up to Ward G42 to continue my care.
I can not praise the team of professional and dedicated people in G42 ward as they were exceptional throughout my time there. They were amazing and considerate and though I didn’t want to bother them as I knew they were busy they all made sure I was very aware of that never being a problem and that they would rather be called to make sure everything was ok than not be called. My 3 main nurses Liv, Jess and Megan made me feel like nothing was too much trouble and were constantly in and out and when I did have a concern about a small change in feel, they were all over everything and taking all the necessary precautions and tests.
I never once felt misinformed or uninformed and that is testament to how the team is managed and coordinated as much as the nurses themselves who clearly have the most difficult job at times and yet they smiled and kept you feeling positive about your own circumstances.
Thankfully I am still here and it’s down to the amazing job the ambulance service, Cath team, cardiologist and care team in G42 did.
I will forever in their debt and thank you just seem enough to say to them all.
