"Cut finger"

About: St John of God Midland Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I cut into my finger and needed either stitches or something and I ended up waiting for 4 hours.

I informed the staff 3 hours into my wait that I can't wait much longer as I would need to do pick up. I was told ' about one more hour im in the top 7 in priority que' I said I'll wait an hour if I'm not seen I'm leaving.

I was then called through to then be put into a sub waiting room with a fella I started talking with who had been there for 2 more hours than I had been there. At this point I'd finally had it as my wound had stopped bleeding and it was numb, so I left and will do my own care at home.

4 hours for a wound that probably only needed cleaning an inspection of depth and something to hold the skin together I feel is ridiculous it would have been a 10 minute patient. It would have given me comfort knowing I had been treated in a timely manner incase the flesh that is loose hadn't attached properly and then I feel I'll be dealing with a finger with no sensation if it doesn't heal right.
