Yesterday afternoon I was brought by ambulance to ED after passing out multiple times from sudden and crippling abdominal pain.
I am so grateful to the whole team for getting my pain under control and keeping me informed every step of the way, as well as facilitating outpatient investigations on my discharge.
From the moment Marissa introduced herself as my nurse (kind soul who was working a double shift!), I felt heard and cared for, she was so busy but regularly checked on me to ensure that my pain was controlled and advocated for me when I couldn't get the words out to speak myself. The first doctor I saw.. I cannot recall her name but she had a cute blue headband and was very attentive, doing everything in her power to control the pain from the moment I got there. Also the lovely team of Sarah's - nursing coordinator, doctor, and short stay nurse - kept me informed and discussed next steps and made sure I was safe to go home, making sure I had pain relief to go home with as I was discharged early in the morning.
The CT tech, lovely guy who had not long started working in Geraldton.. again, cannot recall his name but thankful for the patience he showed in helping me get across to the CT machine and explaining weird feelings that you get from contrast so I wasn't startled from it.
The clerks/admin staff who professionally and patiently confirmed my details when I got there, I know I took a while to get the words out but thank you for your understanding.
The gorgeous PSAs - Adam (who found me a warm blanket) & Steve (who made my poor partner a coffee after his panicked drive home from an out of town minesite) - you guys are the real MVPs.
Thank you for your care, all of you, from the bottom of my heart, I am so grateful for your kindness.
