"Waiting time"

About: Bunbury Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

When I arrived, the triage nurse came and saw me. They did a Covid and, influenza A and B test. They asked some questions but I felt they didn’t really address my concerns. I then went to reception and was booked in. I then sat there for the next 3 hours. I got so frustrated with the whole procedure I left and then came back by ambulance at approximately 3 in the morning. Emergency was deserted. But as I write this I have been waiting for 90 minutes. The nurse has taken my obs. Nothing else seems to progress.

There is no one here but I am still made to wait another 3 hours - it is rediculous in my opinion.

Dear kilokg56,

I am sorry you experienced such long wait times in our emergency department. We are often overwhelmed with the number of presentations, and this can lead to consumer frustrations.

If you would like your specific presentations to be investigated further, please contact our Customer Liaison Officer on 9722 1521 or swfeedback@health.wa.gov.au

Kind regards

Ivan Young | Acting Clinical Nurse Manager
