My brother and I had our doubts about whether our 84-year-old dad—who lives alone and has hearing difficulties—would be able to cope with the remote monitoring app recommended by the nurse practitioner for his heart failure.
Still, everyone deserves a chance. After the cardiologist appointment, my brother and dad were introduced to the app. To help get started, they were provided with an iPad with a larger screen, which is already a great help for dad.
Although I only had a brief glimpse, watching via my phone, I saw a passionate nurse guiding my brother and dad through the app. It felt like watching a nurse on YouTube tutorial. Thank you, Susan.
Susan lifted my dad’s spirits and reassured him that this is possible, and that help is just a phone call away. Every journey starts with a step.
She also mentioned that a team of nurses would be monitoring the data that dad submits, and they’ll only call if something needs attention. What a thoughtful and supportive service.
