Throughout my pregnancy, I had the privilege of having Chloe from MGP4 as my main midwife. Each appointment was so thorough and she made me feel so at ease! When it came to my labour- a long 27 hours, Chloe tried her hardest to be there for me despite staying well after her assigned shift. When Chloe wasn’t there, I received the more excellent care. In particular, a huge thank you to midwife Liv from L&D who helped me through some painful contractions. Every single midwife I encountered was so kind, knowledgeable and I felt so safe. Despite failure to progress which then resulted in an emergency C section, I always felt supported and heard. A big shout out to Dr Ash, too- who made me so calm and reassured that both baby and me were okay. During some pretty intense moments before my c section, it was so lovely to see a smiling and helpful face.
Despite a tricky labour and birth, I have never felt so cared for and seen, and on Thursday the 26th of June, my not so little girl, was delivered safely into my arms.
The after care was phenomenal. Once again, each midwife on Ward 3 so was wonderful and compassionate. A special mention to midwife Steph (Canadian Australian) who helped me so much in the first 24 hours- you are truly an amazing person. Additionally, Brittany and Ashlee, too. I want to thank all the doctors, midwifes, surgery staff and all other staff members behind the scenes who took cared of me from 25th of June - 30th of June. I truly had such a wonderful birthing experience.
