"Migraine Virtual ED experience"

About: Cohuna District Hospital / Urgent Care Department

(as the patient),

I presented at CDH with a migraine. As there were no doctors on call, I was told I would be guided through Virtual ED with another clinician. I felt their manner was abrupt and they were not listening to what I said. After a consultation with the Doctor from Virtual ED, a treatment plan was made.

Unfortunately the clinician was unwilling to administer the medication prescribed. (This is what I had previously for migraine at CDH). This necessitated different medications being tried unsuccessfully. I felt the clinician was fixated on the fact I had a temperature. As my symptoms had not improved I was admitted.

The next thing I knew, I was woken by a nurse for observations and to be told I was being transferred to Echuca due to the possibility of meningitis. The ambulance was on its way.

Was this necessary?
