I am currently under investigation for endometriosis and saw a consultant doctor for the first time as my most recent appointment after only seeing the registrar previously. I had read online that they were kind, compassionate and listens to their patients, but unfortunately this was not my experience. I found them abrupt, cold and dismissive; I found myself leaving the appointment feeling very deflated and unheard. A comment about my intention to 'use my uterus' felt very uncalled for and blunt about my personal decisions for my body.
I come to you because I am experiencing pain and symptoms and I do not have any physical evidence of endo. This is hard for me when the imaging shows everything is fine, but I do not feel fine. I am advocating for myself and feel alone when doctors dismiss me.
Please do better.
