Being from the country I definitely needed the help from the Cancer Council and the WA Country Health Scheme to assist with accommodation in Perth for a period of approximately eight weeks.
So this started by contacting the people at P.A.T.S in my local area of Kalbarri and I was referred to the supervisor in Dongara for instruction. That was my first conversation with Kim at PATS, she was absolutely invaluable for information and instruction in regards to the forms and applications I had to submit to become eligible for assistance as I had never done anything like this before. Kim also had lots of insight advice for heading off on my unknown journey with plenty of personal experience and knowledge that I really appreciated in regards to getting in touch with Milroy Lodge in Shelton Park for my accommodation. In doing so I began the process and Kim was there to help me with all the proper procedures I needed to complete and I certainly would have been at a loss without her guidance on what to do.
Next came my contact with Milroy Lodge. Over the phone I was warmly assisted with procedure by Anu, a very helpful young lady at Milroy Lodge.
Anu gave me my options of what might be available and then instructed me
To apply for the accommodation that suited my situation through the PATS office, this led me back to Kim, Kim co-ordinated the whole thing instructing me on the forms and how to word my applications according to the criteria required that for me at the time was quite difficult had I not had Kim's help.
This led back to my applications being successful received at Milroy Lodge by Anu, thus leading to me being booked in on the commencement dates and all things confirmed.
I have been here at Milroy Lodge in Shelton Park for almost seven weeks now with a little over a week to go and I have to say that it has been a very good and stressless experience. The people and staff have been fantastic and whenever the schedule needed to be changed or adjusted the communication with Kim at PATS with Milroy Lodge has been fantastic.
So I have to say a big thanks to Anu and staff at Milroy Lodge for looking out for me and Kim at PATS for making sure I did everything correctly and was where I needed to be....cheers guys..thanks so much...
