"Services Combined - Great outcome"

Our daughter recently presented to Emergency - very unwell and at the time, not known to us the severity of her situation.  We were treated promptly and all medical services available were in full action, keeping us informed along the way. 

Whilst it took some time to stabilise her, the care was informed and communicated well to us - even in our high state of panic.  We were admitted to medical ward, back to HDU and with a new Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis and what could have been a very different outcome from DKA. 

The Nursing team, all Doctors and member's of the medical ward and HDU were exceptional.  Discreet, Calm, informative and compassionate. Massive mention to Chantelle & Kylie for their advocacy and support in our daughter's complex situation.  Compassion and empathy granted, quality support and medical support given to our entire family was appreciated beyond words. Maryanne from Diabetes Education was knowledgeable, patient and supportive - such a wonderful service delivered with all the right advice and care.  We have a massive journey ahead and thanks to Dr Amir, Dr Arti, Dr George, Chantelle, Kylie, Maryanne and Olivia we feel ready to ensure our daughter is linked to the appropriate services and support systems going forward in her long-term Health care Management. Ensuring each case is managed and assessed on the entire picture is so important for our young adults transitioning from Peads to Adult Care. All elements of their health considered to keep them informed, safe and mental wellbeing considered.  This was what made our stay so positive and generated this successful health outcome. Keep up the great work - supporting all members of our community
