"Lack of mental health admission"

About: Armadale Mental Health Services

(as a relative),

My relative as tried to commit suicide time and time again the amount of times in the last two years are 10 times yet it appears to me that Armadale Hospital refuse to treat them.

Their conditions are very numerous

1. believes everyone is out to get

2. germ phobia.

3. sun phobia total isolations never goes out social total isolations.

Recently tried to commit suicide by banging their head against the wall until they bled and became unconscious. Ambulance was called said no they're fine even thought my relative was complaining to me of feeling dizzy and very bad headache. two days later on they got a knife and tried to kill themself police took them to Armadale hospital, 2 hours later they were out .

000 was called time and time again

The ambulance and police have taken my relative to emergency so many time we lost count.

All the health professionals we've seen are telling the mental health that my relative needs to be admited but it seems to me that they just don't care.

The Armadale hospital has let my family down time and time again. I believe my relative needs to be admitted in mental hospital.

Dear correspondencedy78,

Thank you for sharing your story. I’m sorry to hear about the challenges your loved one has faced, and I understand how distressing this situation must be for you and your family.

As Care Opinion is an anonymous platform, unfortunately I don’t have the detail to be able to follow up with you directly about your loved one. In the absence of this, I do want to ensure you are aware of the support services available:

- Orchard Avenue Centre, ATT (Assessment and Treatment Team) Service: This is a community-based mental health service that provides timely assessment, triage, and short-term treatment for individuals experiencing acute mental health concerns. You or your loved one can attend in person at Shop 3/10, 14 Orchard Avenue, Armadale WA 6112, located within Armadale Central Shopping Centre, or contact the service directly on 9398 6600.

- Mental Health Emergency Response Line (MHERL) is a 24-hour telephone service for people in the Perth metropolitan area experiencing a mental health crisis but is not an emergency service. Call 1300 555 788 (Metro) or 1800 676 822 (Peel). - Lifeline: For crisis support and suicide prevention, call 13 11 14 or visit www.lifeline.org.au.

- General Practitioner (GP): A GP can provide ongoing care and referrals to mental health services.

- Emergency Departments: If urgent care is needed, your loved one can present to any public hospital emergency department for assessment.

If you feel comfortable, I would encourage you to contact the hospital’s Consumer Liaison Service directly so that we can discuss your concerns further with you, on (08) 9391 1153 or AKG_ConsumerLiaison@health.wa.gov.au

Kind regards
